Is There a Treatment for Scars?
During adolescence, the sebaceous glands are more active than normal due to the influence of hormones. As the oil production in the skin increases and dead skin cells block the skin channels and pores, bacteria get trapped in the pores, multiply there and as a result, rashes, pus-filled swellings, i.e. acne, occur. Depending on how the pore is blocked, different types of acne appear, such as blackheads, whiteheads, or cysts. These cyst-shaped acne or blackheads that are tampered with remain as scars on the skin over time.
My advice to my patients who encounter acne problems during adolescence is to get treatment early and not to play with their acne. Because while you are trying to get rid of your pimples by squeezing them, the part that is on top like an iceberg may be extinguished, while the part that is not visible at the bottom breaks down and spreads under the skin. Therefore, please do not bother with your acne. However, sometimes pimples appear so deeply that even if you do not poke them, they may cause tissue loss and damage to the vessels, leaving depressions and sometimes red-purple scars on the skin surface.
Broad band light treatments (BBL laser) are applied for scars that remain red-purple in color.
For the pits remaining after acne, collagen and hyaluronic acid filler injections are applied along with needle radiofrequency (golden needle), fractional carbon dioxide laser and platelet rich plasma (PRP) treatments.
