What is Acne Disease?
Acne disease, popularly known as ‘acne’, occurs due to the blockage of the sebaceous gland channels in the lower layer of the skin structure due to the oiliness in the upper layer of the skin and the oil formed in these channels cannot be expelled. These blockages, which first appear as blackheads (open comedones), become inflamed after a while and turn into pimples with whitened tips.
What are the factors that affect acne formation?
It is very important to determine well what is the main factor in the emergence of acne. If the correctly identified problem is addressed with the right treatment, these problems on the skin surface can be resolved. Triggering factors should be thoroughly investigated in the process of solving the acne problem that occurs especially in clients aged 20 and over.
The main factors that cause skin acne after this age can be summarized as taking supplements, hormone disorders, insulin resistance, using many and poor quality cosmetic products, being diabetic and having a thyroid disease.
Methods Used in Acne Treatment
Acne treatment is the whole of the work done to eliminate the acne problem that occurs especially in the facial areas of both women and men and creates very cosmetically distressing images.
In order to overcome the acne problem without causing permanent damage to the skin surface, the treatment process carried out by a specialist physician should be applied. Depending on each skin structure and the different reasons for the acne problem, there are different treatments that will correct the skin structure for the source of the problem and are applied individually.
As a result of many applications and tools developed for skin treatment with developing technology, more than one method has been developed for acne treatment. The basic methods used in this type of treatment are laser acne treatment, drug treatment, chemical peeling treatment, medically applied skin care and acne treatment with topical creams.
However, it should not be forgotten that there is no single method determined as the best acne treatment for every person receiving treatment. The treatment process, which is shaped according to everyone’s needs, sometimes takes the form of long treatments and sometimes short treatments.
What to Do to Prevent Acne?
Factors that cause acne include genetic predisposition, oily skin type, hormonal factors, nutrition and stress.
Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), in which hormonal causes include menstrual irregularity, increased hair growth and ovarian cysts, manifests itself with persistent acne, especially in the chin area.
Nutritional factors include excessive consumption of milk and dairy products and sugary foods with high glycemic index.
Since it is known that intense stress felt in the body triggers hormones and seriously increases acne formation, it is recommended to live a life as stress-free as possible. Likewise, since lack of sleep and fatigue also trigger acne, care should be taken to sleep for at least 8 hours a day.
If you have an active sports life, you should definitely pay attention to your skin cleansing after your exercises. Be sure to clean and wash your skin well to get rid of the residue that will accumulate on your skin due to sweating.
One of the factors that increase acne is playing with and squeezing the pimples on your skin. During the treatment of chronic acne, this type of behavior should definitely be avoided; Pimples should not be squeezed, played with, touched, or the skin on them should not be picked.
